Description

A dump truck is a specialized vehicle designed to transport and unload bulk materials—such as sand, gravel, or construction debris—through a hydraulically or mechanically actuated tilting bed. Also commonly known as a tipper truck or dumper, it consists of a robust chassis, a hydraulic lifting mechanism, a cargo body, and a power take-off (PTO) system that draws power from the engine to operate the lift.

The cargo body typically tilts either rearward or sideways, controlled by a hydraulic piston system. Rear-tipping configurations are the most prevalent, offering stable and efficient unloading for most construction and mining applications, while side-tipping variants are used in confined spaces or specialized operations. The hydraulic system allows precise control over the tilt angle and speed, ensuring safe and complete discharge of materials without manual intervention.
